Zachary Roloff was born on the 10th of May 1990 in Oregon. Born to Matthew and Amy Roloff, Jack and his brother Jeremy are fraternal twins. As the only dwarf kid in the family, Zach often had a hard time adjusting with his siblings. But regardless of their physical stature, Zach, Jeremy, Molly, and Jacob are incredibly close and are always looking out for each other.

Zachary has faced many medical complications throughout his life due to his condition. He suffers from chronic migraines, which he believes are related to the pressure in his brain caused by excess cerebrospinal fluid. He has a device called a shunt implanted in his brain to help drain the fluid and prevent hydrocephalus, which is a dangerous buildup of fluid that can damage the brain.
An avid sports fan, Zach loved playing soccer. But Zach soon realized that the difference in height was a disadvantage for him. As shown in the second season of the series, Zach never quite soccer and even managed to make his high-school team.
