Patrícia Mamona won the bronze medal in the triple jump at the European indoor track, in Istanbul, this Saturday, jumping 14.16m, on the first attempt.
At the age of 34, the Sporting jumper was trying to revalidate the title won in 2021, but saw the gold stay “at home”, in possession of the Turkish Tugba Damismaz, who jumped 14.31m. Italian Daiya Derkach won silver, jumping 14.20m.
This is the third medal won by the Portuguese delegation at the Europeans, after Auriol Dongmo and Pedro Pichardo was crowned European champions on Friday.
