Tom was born and raised in rural Oklahoma, Terry gained a special passion for weather and has spent his life running after all types of weather from tornadoes to hurricanes.
In 2004, He used all of his skills and experience during the devastating hurricane season. Hurricane Charley brought Central Florida its first hurricane in over 40 years and was the most intense land-falling tropical system I had ever covered. But it didn’t stop there as Central Florida would be hit by two more hurricanes “Frances” and “Jeanne.” They just wouldn’t let it upon us.
Terry landed his first broadcasting job at KGOU radio then relocated to television with stints at KRIS, in Corpus Christi and KBMT in Beaumont.
In 1996, He became the AM/Noon Meteorologist at WCPX/WKMG in Orlando later moving to the rival station, WFTV, in 2002. In 2003, he became Chief Meteorologist.
During his leisure time, Tom enjoys spending time at home with my wife Selina and children Ryan and Kaitlyn. In addition, Terry also likes to work on my Mustang and collect old horror movies. Terry attended and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Meteorology and holds the “Seal of Approval” from the American Meteorological Society.
