This Wednesday the opening of ‘Sevilla es Fútbol’ took place, a fair that takes place in Madrid, where Sevillian football is honored.
This first day was attended by Francisco Reyes, father of the ill-fated Sevilla FC player, José Antonio Reyes.
There he recounted some curiosities about the footballer, such as when he was signed by Madrid and Atlético at the same time, and what it hurt him not to go to the World Cup in South Africa, which would have meant being the world champion.
This is how his father related it: «I am at my house in England and I find Miguel Ángel Gil at the door, offering us to go to the Rojiblanco club. We took the flight to Madrid and it turns out that he had signed up for Real Madrid. At 12:00 he was a player for Atlético de Madrid and at 12:04 for Real Madrid ».
«It hurt him a lot that Del Bosque did not call him not to play the World Cup. He considered it an injustice since he was playing at a high level at Atlético », commented Reyes’s father.
