For over two decades, she has been teaching voice and dance at her family’s performing arts center in Alliance, Ohio. In 1989, she received the Ohio Governor’s Choice Award whereas in 1989 was Ohio’s Junior Miss/Ohio’s Young Woman of the Year. From 1979 to 1989, she and her brother, Thommie, a recording artist in California toured the country with the Bobe Hope USO Troupe.
She and her brother went on and had their own show in 1983 at Geauga Lake Amusement Park where they sang, danced, and played eight different musical instruments. Stefanis is still passionate about music and remains active today singing the National Anthem for the Cleveland sports teams and professional teams of the west coast. Also, she has been involved in the festivities surrounding the Professional Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Since she was 15 years old, she has sung the National Anthem for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game and performed the opening and closing songs for the Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremonies. Besides hosting the fashion show and other festivities, and for over 20 years she has hosted the Hall of Fam Parade national broadcast with Dan Dierdorf.
She has been on the cover of Cleveland Magazine’s Millenium issue featuring Cleveland’s Most Interesting People of 2000. Moreover, she was on the cover for “Celebrity Working Mothers”, and “Celebrity Homes” and featured Stefani in their cover issue as well. Since 2012, she has been named Cleveland’s Favorite News Anchor and Favorite News Team by the readers of Cleveland Magazine. Also, she was voted among the top favorite TV celebrities in Scene Magazine. On September 14, 2008, she was inducted into the Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
