The Generalitat Fire Brigade have stabilized the vegetation fire that broke out this afternoon in the Corral d’en Cona de Cubelles urbanization (Barcelona) and that has forced the eviction of about twenty residents as a precaution.
The Firefighters have received the notice of the fire at 6:37 p.m. and have moved nine crews to extinguish the fire, declared in an area of Camí de Prades in the urbanization of this coastal town. Around 9:00 p.m., the Firefighters have considered the fire stabilized, of which its origin is unknown.
The Mossos d’Esquadra have collaborated in the operation, which have cut roads to facilitate the passage of fire brigade vehicles and have helped confine the residents at home in the most risky areas, as a precautionary measure.
As a result of the fire, some residents of homes near the fire area have had to be evicted due to the effects of smoke and others have been confined to their homes.
The consistory has recommended that the population stay away from the area for security reasons and to facilitate the work of the emergency services.
