The stars of Everything Everywhere All at Once

In terms of the highest standards in the field of television and film, every person in Hollywood has their say during the award season. On Sunday it was the actors who took their turn at an old spot: on the stage.

The first time live streaming is happening to the public for the first time ever on YouTube, Netflix’s channel (that’s right it’s over! TBS and. TNT choice! ) The 2023 SAG Awards presented trophies (known in the category of the Actor) in recognition of the actors who stood out in films and TV shows over the past year. The SAG Awards are considered to be a signpost of Oscar popularity and success, the Screen Actors Guild Awards often determine the winners in acting categories. They did so perfectly this year, as SAG statue winners (Lead actor Will Smith, Lead Actress Jessica Chastain, Supporting Actor Troy Kotsur as well as Supporting Actress Ariana Debose) also walked the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday night.

The Sunday night’s award tally will provide a positive outlook for the trippy multiverse family film The film Everything Everywhere At Once which amazingly transformed its five nominations into record-breaking 4 Actors and the majority of the night’s most impressive speeches. (The film also earned top prizes in the Producers Guild Awards and Directors Guilds Awards and further solidified its bright future.) The EEAO’s triumph parade included the sought-after Best Ensemble statue and wins for Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis as well as Ke Huy Quan, who was one of the few Asian actors to be awarded in the category of Supporting Actor category. (The 1920s-set Irish-set comedy The Banshees of Inishirin which also entered the evening with five nominations, came home empty-handed.) In the meantime, Brendan Fraser was awarded the Best Actor award for his role as the lead in The Whale. (For the first time in 1998 the four winners for acting in the acting categories at the BAFTAs and the SAG Awards were completely different and threw a variety of obstacles into the Oscar contest.)

In the world of TV, The White Lotus continued to accumulate statues on the award show circuit. After a couple of victories in the Golden Globes, HBO’s resort-set comedy-drama took home the Best Drama Series Ensemble trophy, and Jennifer Coolidge netted an Actor award too. Other awards were distributed throughout the other nominated series including Abbott Elementary prevailing in the Best Comedy Ensemble category and the Netflix money-laundering thriller Ozark with the highest number of nominations for any series, with four winning one Actor through Jason Bateman. Jean Smart (Hacks) and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) were also on the podium.

The SAG Awards are selected by the more than 120,000 participants of SAG-AFTRA. The event also paid particular tribute to Sally Field, who was awarded the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award. Scroll down for the full list of actors who took home the prize tonight.
