In the standings, Manchester City (58 points) maintains pressure on Arsenal (60 points) which retains the lead with a two-point lead and a game behind. The Magpies are in 5th place with 41 units.
From the quarter hour, Phil Foden (15th) opened the scoring with a shot that deceived Nick Pope. After the hour mark, De Bruyne gave way to Bernardo Silva (65th) who doubled the lead for the Citizens thanks to a nice pass from Erling Haaland.
