Trachman discovered her passion for meteorology as a teen. Her supportive father serves as a Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service volunteer and offers help in emergency communications for Sedgwick County.
Her hometown of Haysville by devastating tornadoes hit twice in 1991 and 1999. Lisa has more than 14 years of professional experience and 10 years of forecasting severe weather in Kansas as well as Missouri and holds the American Meteorological Society’s “Seal of Approval”. In 2011, Teachman in the hours after the catastrophic EF5 tornado struck the city reported live from Joplin.
