The first phase of the challenge pits pairs of survivalists against each other to determine who can last the longest in the woods. Each team must find food, drink, fire, and shelter. However, in Naked and Afraid, they must first work for the survival items they will require, which are buried in the surrounding environment. Each week, they will be moved to a different area to test their abilities to the limit. If a competitor’s partner withdraws at any time during the match, they are also eliminated.
