John Prideaux is a renowned London-based correspondent and journalist presently working as the U.S. editor for The Economist. He also works as the host of the Check and Balance podcast. Before that, John worked as a Washington correspondent since 2013. He officially joined The Economist in 2004 and has served as a home page editor, finance correspondent, Brazil correspondent, and India correspondent.
Before his stint at The Economist, he worked as a freelancer, contributing to The New Statesman and The Financial Times. Furthermore, John served as a researcher in the European Parliament and the House of Commons.
