Jeff Ehling Career
Jeff started his journalism career in 1986 near his hometown of Statenville, Georgia. He served for an ABC Affiliate WVGA in Valdosta, Georgia for three years prior to moving to NBC affiliate WMGT in Macon, Georgia.
Ehling got a job serving for the CBS affiliate, WCTV, in Tallahassee, Florida in 1990. During his tenure, Jeff was the Bureau Chief in Valdosta which gave him the chance to again report on the news wherein the place he graduated high school and college. Before leaving the station, he was promoted to weekend anchor.
Jeff moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1996, where he was a general assignment reporter. He looks back on South Florida with great fondness because that is where he met his wife.
In December 1999, his wife got a job in Houston so they relocated to Texas. A month later, he landed a position as the morning reporter at KTRK.
Since he joined the station, Her family has grown. He and his wife are proud parents of two boys who keep them very busy and occasionally bleary-eyed.
During his time at KTRK, Jeff has covered hurricanes, Operation Iraqi Freedom from Kuwait and Iraq, and Texas troops guarding the prisoners at Guantanamo, Cuba. Ehling looks forward to many more exciting stories and happy years in Houston. Notably, he enjoys travel and pro football. He holds a degree in Television from Valdosta State University.
