In the mid-1990s, when Jason was just starting in television, he worked as a content producer at Pics Previews, a multi-media company in San Francisco.
Jason was born in Chicago and attended high school in both Santa Barbara, CA, and Madison, WI. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Economics from UC Santa Cruz.
Jason enjoys spending time with his family, which includes watching his son’s high school basketball games and his daughter’s youth soccer matches when he is not working. He enjoys hiking, mountain biking, going to the movies, traveling, and walking the family dog, Cubby, whom he refers to as “the best dog in the world.”
After interning at the station for around 5 months, he earned his first television broadcasting job as a producer at the NBC affiliate in San Francisco. He made his own luck by being prepared to step in when the weekend producer left. After a decade there, he relocated to Los Angeles for a year to serve as a sports producer for the CBS affiliate before returning to the Bay Area to become the Executive Sports Producer at KRON, where he earned an Emmy for producing a one-hour sports special.
He began working at KTVU Fox 2 in July 2015 to conduct more on-air work and help guide our department with the presence of our ever-expanding sport, both on-air and online. Furthermore, for someone working in sports, the Bay Area is the best market, with championship teams in major professional sports as well as top collegiate programs at Cal and Stanford. Combine that with FOX Sports’ extensive, in-depth coverage, and he could not ask for a better place to work.
