This Saturday (11), starting at 10 am, the weather will warm up a lot around the headquarters of Flamengo, in Gávea, south of Rio. Organized fans have been calling for demonstrations on social networks to demand the removal of coach Vítor Pereira and some leaders, including the vice president of Football, Marcos Braz.
Supporters have been very supportive and it is estimated that thousands of them will attend the protest. It will be a way of showing discontent with Flamengo’s repeated failures this season.
With a multi-million team, Rubro-Negro has already lost four titles at the start of the year – it lost the Brazilian Super Cup to Palmeiras, was beaten by Al-Hilal in the Club World Cup semifinal, succumbed to Independiente del Valle in the Recopa Sul-Americana and, finally, threw away the Guanabara Cup in the last minutes of the classic played against Fluminense, on Wednesday (8).
Fans promise to take banners, posters, whistles and mortars and the Military Police will set up a special scheme to try to reduce traffic damage in Gávea.
