Season 3 of Extreme E, a category of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) that brings together 100% electric SUVs in rally competitions, will start with two races this Saturday (11) and Sunday (12), in Saudi Arabia. And you can watch it all live right here in Brazil.
If you want to know where to watch the races that have already attracted the attention of Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button, established names in Formula 1, just stay tuned that the canaltech will help you.
The first two stages will have the qualifying rounds (Q1 and Q2) played both on Saturday and Sunday between 2 am and 3:30 am, Brasília time. The final, with the top 5, and the so-called redemption race, which will feature the 5 worst placed in the qualifiers, will be played between 9 am and 11 am, also at Brasilia time.
Lewis Hamilton’s team defends the title
Season 3 of Extreme E will feature 10 teams, made up of two riders each, one male and one female, as mandated by regulations focused on diversity. The main rival to be overthrown is the one that has none other than the multi-champion Lewis Hamilton as owner.
The X44 Vida Carbon Racing will enter the season defending the title, as it won the cup in 2022. The team will be formed by the Spanish Cristina Gutiérrez and Fraser McConnell.
The driver is a remnant of the winning team in 2022, but McConnell replaces Frenchman Sebastien Loeb, former world Rally champion, who withdrew from continuing in the competition to focus exclusively on Bahrain Raid Xtreme, the team that will compete in the Rally-Raid season in 2023 .
