The breathable air supply of the craft was expected to run out on the morning of June 22, 2023. Sonar equipment picked up thumping noises from the ocean below, and remote underwater vehicles were launched to locate the submersible and any survivors. However, no contact had been made with the submersible or its crew as of 21 June 2023.
