A botched joke Chris Rock told during the live version of Selective Outrage has reportedly been edited out of the final cut of the Netflix special.
While delivering stinging remarks about Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, Rock mixed up Smith’s movies Emancipation and Concussion.
“Years ago, his wife said I should quit the Oscars, I shouldn’t host ’cause her man didn’t get nominated for Emancipation, the biggest piece of sh-t ever!” Rock said before correcting the mistake. “No, not Emancipation, I f–ked up the joke. Concussion.”
The joke was in reference to Smith’s 2015 drama about brain damage suffered by football players.
When Smith didn’t get a nomination for his performance in Concussion, Pinkett Smith said she planned to boycott the ceremony. Her announcement came at the height of the #OscarsSoWhite movement, when only white performers were nominated in the four acting categories for a second straight year.

Viewers who stream the final cut of Chris Rock: Selective Outrage won’t see the flub because it’s been removed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The special streamed live on Saturday night, marking the first live programming on Netflix.
During the special, Rock tore into Smith for slapping him on stage at last year’s Oscars.
“Will Smith practices selective outrage, because everybody knows what the f–k happened,” Rock said. “Everybody that really knows, knows I had nothing to do with that sh-t.”
The comedian said Smith was more upset about being humiliated on Red Table Talk during a discussion about his wife’s “entanglement” with singer August Alsina, than the actor was about Rock telling a joke at the awards ceremony about Pinkett Smith starring in a G.I. Jane sequel because of her shaved head.
“I didn’t have any entanglements. I did not have any entanglements. And for people that don’t know, and everybody else, Will Smith’s wife was f–king her son’s friend. Okay,” Rock said. “Now, I normally would not talk about this sh-t. But for some reason, these ni–as put that sh-t on the internet. ”
“She hurt him way more than he hurt me,” Rock added.
Smith hasn’t made any public statements about Selective Outrage.
But a source told Entertainment Tonight, “Will is embarrassed and hurt by what Chris said about him and his family.”
