Wade attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman after completing her high school education. When she finished her studies, she became a graduate and attained a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. During her time there, she served the Alpha Kappa Alpha.

For instance, she served as a founding member of the local chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists during her time in Las Vegas.

She is involved with the Oklahoma City National Memorial. The memorial holds a special place in her heart as her father passed away as a result of the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.
