The Colombian Under 20 team will begin its preparation for the World Cup in Indonesia with three friendly matches in Spain. They will face Wales, Sweden and the under 21 team of Real Murcia. For this call, coach Héctor Cárdenas called 24 players who will start work next Monday, March 13 at the FCF sports headquarters in Bogotá.
The three friendly matches of the youth team will be played at the Pinatar Arena Football Center stadium, located in the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar, belonging to the Murcia region. They will be on March 23, 26 and 28. Among those summoned, the returns of Yaser Asprilla (Watford) and Tomás Ángel (Atlético Nacional), players who were not in the South Americanthe first because his team did not lend it and the second due to a technical decision.
In this first call after the South American, there are several absences that were in obtaining that third place and qualifying for the World Cup in the category. Players like Alexei Rojas, Cristian Santander, Juan José Mina, Kevin Mantilla, David Luna, Ricardo Caraballo, Juan David Fuentes and Isaac Zuleta were not called up by Cárdenas. Jhon Jader Durán, Aston Villa striker, is not on the list either and will surely be included in Néstor Lorenzo’s for the senior team games in South Korea and Japan (March 24 and 27).

The match against Wales is scheduled for 7:00 am Colombian time on Thursday, March 23. They will play against Sweden at 1:00 pm, also Colombian time, on Sunday the 26th of the same month. The time for the match against the Murcia sub 21 category has not yet been announced.
The Sub 20 World Cup will be played from May 20 to June 11 in Indonesia. The draw for the groups will be held next Friday, March 31 in Jakarta.
