Alan Levin, an American writer and radio broadcaster from Rochester, New York, goes by the on-air moniker Brother Wease. He is currently employed at WHTK AM 1280, a sports radio station and WAIO “Radio 95.1” in Rochester, a classic rock station.
Wease adopted the stage name “Wease” from his “Weasel” nickname in school. He is recognized for divulging much of his personal life with some of his listeners. He previously worked as an emcee for Woodstock ’94 and Woodstock ’99.

Brother Wease Career
In 1985, Wease launched his radio career as the late-night host on 96.5 WCMF-FM. Soon after, he switched to the morning show, where his show, “The Brother Wease Morning Circus,” was one of the most popular in the Rochester market. Wease also aired a weekly music show on Saturdays called “Radio Free Wease.”
He was compelled to depart after his contract with that show and the station ran out in January 2008. His co-hosts stayed and took over the show, renaming it “The Break Room.” He found a job as a sales executive with Clear Channel Communications shortly after leaving WCMF.
He returned to the airwaves on WFXF “95.1 THE FOX” on November 17, 2008, with a new supporting cast that includes female co-host Lilly Hisenaj, Rochester stand-up comedian Jamie Lissow, and executive morning show producer Anthony Caiazzo. This new incarnation is referred to as “The Wease Show”.
In December 2006, he broadcast a three-hour music program on the Virus channel of XM Satellite Radio. In October 2021, Wease was honored by being inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in Chicago. He was included in the venerable group of local and regional figures.
