Ernest Hall, a well-known boxer, was tragically killed in a shooting in Baltimore earlier this week.
He was scheduled to have a 6-round bout with John Leonardo at The Terrace at Biagio Ristorante in Paramus on April 1.
The shooting occurred just after midnight on March 23 in the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue, resulting in the death of Hall and injuries to five others, including two teenagers.
Although police did not initially release Hall’s identity, it was later confirmed. One of the victims is in critical condition, while the others are in stable condition.
According to police investigators, individuals in a vehicle stopped on Edmondson Avenue and opened fire into a crowd of people indiscriminately before fleeing the scene.
Ernest Hall, a father of three and a featherweight boxer with a record of 4-2-1 (including one knockout), was among the victims.
The shooting occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday, March 23, and left five others injured, including two teenagers.
The boxing community has expressed their condolences to Hall, who was preparing for a scheduled six-round bout against John Leonardo in Paramus, New Jersey on April 1.
According to Baltimore City Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, a vehicle came to a stop at the scene and several individuals got out of the vehicle, randomly firing gunshots into a crowd of people.
Subsequently, the purported shooters got back into their vehicle and fled from the area.
On Thursday, police indicated that they did not have any information regarding the vehicle’s description.
