Also, the book aspires to present many sides of contentious medical issues such as treatment variation between hospitals, physicians’ role in capital punishment, and malpractice law in the US.

He released his third book in the year 2009 called The Checklist Manifesto: How to Get Things Right. It talks about the importance of organization and preplanning in both the larger world and medicine. In 2010, the book reached the New York Times hardcover nonfiction bestseller list.

In October 2014, Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters, in the End, was released. It then became a #1 New York Times bestseller. Being Mortal was the basis of Frontline, a documentary for the PBS television series which was initially broadcast on the 10th of February 2015.
