On the afternoon of March 24, 2023, a shooting incident was reported near Collins Bay Penitentiary on Bath Road, which is currently being investigated by the Kingston Police.
According to witnesses, two suspects lightened from a gray vehicle that had pulled up at the Collins Bay Penitentiary premises near Henry Trail Correctional Center, and opened fire on two individuals who were walking along the road.
The police confirmed the occurrence of the shooting in the vicinity of Bath Road and Centennial Drive.
The suspects were described as several armed black males, who fled the scene in a gray Honda Civic, heading northbound on Centennial Drive from Bath Road.
Authorities advised members of the public not to approach the vehicle and to immediately contact 911 if sighted.
It is uncertain how severe the injuries are, but paramedics transported at least one person to the hospital.
Kingston Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing, and as a result, Bath Road between Queen Mary Road and Tanner Drive will be inaccessible to drivers.
