Ana Cabrera is an American journalist who works as a TV news anchor for CNN in Manhattan since joined the station in 2013 first as CNN’s correspondent based in Denver, Colorado, later joined the station’s investigative team.
She began TV broadcasts after graduation. She first got hired by KCNC-TV later had an internship at KMGH-TV. From there, she joined KHQ-TV, Spokane, Washington, where she worked as a reporter/anchor for almost five years from 2005 to 2009.
After her contract with KHQ-TV was over, it was time for her to moved back to her hometown Denver, where she was given a position as a reporter at KMGH-TV Channel 7 News, an ABC affiliate owned by E.W Scripps Company. She was with the team that covered the High Park Fire in 2012 in Colorado, Fort Collis, in the county of Larimer.
For her excellent performance in the journalism field, she got a position on CNN and won an Emmy award. She was given a job by CNN as a Denver bases Correspondent in 2013. A few months later, she transitioned to an Investigative reporter. In March 2017, she was named anchor of CNN’s weekend prime time news program, CNN Newsroom, succeeding Poppy Harlow.
She has covered stories including the unrest in Ferguson following the shooting of Michael Brown, the Unite the Right rally of white supremacists in Charlottesville, immigration, marijuana legalization, and the 2017 London Bridge attack.
