Alaa Abdelnaby is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He is currently a color analyst for the Philadelphia 76ers. Alaa played at Duke University before joining the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), as well as other leagues.
For many years, he worked as a basketball commentator and analyst for CBS Sports Network, NBCS Philadelphia, and Westwood One Radio. In 1995, he began his broadcasting career by presenting NBA games in Arabic on Orbit Satellite Television. He afterward moved on to work for other Arabic broadcasters.
He is now the color analyst for the Philadelphia 76ers. He collaborates with NBC Sports Philadelphia play-by-play commentator Kate Scott. Alaa also works as a CBS Sports Network college basketball in-studio analyst. He also conducts color commentary for on-site NCAA basketball games as well as for Westwood One Radio.
